The Power Company is back. Created by Bryan Hill, THE POWER COMPANY: RECHARGED #1 hit local comic shops today. This newest iteration of the team is put to the test fighting back against the rising anti-metahuman movement. I would like to thank DC for giving me access to this one-shot to review. You can check out my non-spoiler thoughts on this issue below.

THE POWER COMPANY: RECHARGED #1
Spinning out of the events of Black Lightning and DC Power: Rise of the Power Company, Josiah Power and Jefferson Pierce lead the newest iteration of the Power Company with a new purpose of rebuilding humanity’s faith in heroes and fighting back against the rising anti-metahuman movement. For their first mission, the Company dispatches Jace Fox Batman, The Signal, and Vixen investigate a serial killer that’s been hunting metas in the streets of Atlanta, Georgia. Batman & The Outsiders writer Bryan Edward Hill makes his return to DC alongside artists Khary Randolph and Alitha Martinez in an oversized special issue that revitalizes the titular street level team for a new generation!

THE POWER COMPANY: RECHARGED #1 – THE REVIEW
Again, thank you for checking out my review of THE POWER COMPANY: RECHARGED #1 from DC. For those who are not familiar with my reviews, I follow what I call the Three Ss: Simple, Short, and Spoiler-Free. This latest one-shot from DC brings back the Power Company, which was first introduced in JLA #61. This super team is run by metahuman businessman Josiah Power and consists of Black Lightning, Vixen, Signal, and the Jace Fox Batman. Like most DC comics, this issue starts dark and bloody. What is nice about this story is that it takes place after Black Lightning and DC Power: Rise of the Power Company, so we didn’t have to take page space for character introductions. Now, I do wish we had a little more on the main villain, but even without a lot on him it still worked well with this story.

Writer Bryan Hill did an amazing job putting this story into 40 pages. While this issue sets up The Power Company team, it also stays on pace and delivers with the action, drama, and suspense. Also, we cannot forget about the art team of Studio Skye Tiger, Ray-Anthony Height, Alitha Martinez, and Khary Randolph. The art throughout looked great. You got that dark DC feeling during some of the scenes, and then things lit up when the action started. The way they used the color for these scenes really brought the story to life and kept you wanting more.
If you are a DC comic fan, you will want to grab a copy of THE POWER COMPANY: RECHARGED #1. Hill did an amazing job bringing The Power Company back to the pages of DC. This one-shot is a must-red, and I hope it will lead to more from this team.
